JOB SUMMARY
This person welds metal parts together using specified wire welding processes, and performs related task such as flame cutting and grinding. This person should have a general mechanical aptitude that can and have experience with blue prints and schematics. Candidates need to be able to perform various labor tasks.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of the welding process and equipment.
Ability to weld vertical, flat and overhead welds with good penetration and a quality appearance.
Good communication skills relative to supervisor and other departments.
Math skills including Fractions and angles.
Ability to read a measuring tape.
Ability to read blueprint drawings and cut list.
Ability to lift 75 pounds.
Remain in a standing position for extended periods of time.
Ability to utilize judgment in performance of duties.
Ability to learn job-related material primarily though oral instruction and observation. This learning takes place mainly in an on-the-job training setting.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
